DHL Global Forwarding manages the flow of goods and information across a customer’s global supply chain utilizing air/ocean/ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers.  We are part of Deutsche Post DHL, the world’s leading logistics provider with operations in over 220 countries.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of the Air Import Supervisor is key to the Air Import Operations.  The Air Import manual and Best Practices outline the expectations and standards of each Air Import Operation.  The Air Import Supervisor is responsible to ensure that these policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
 Manages the daily work flow and assignments to the staff on the shift
 Ensures all employees are fully trained in all aspects of their job as well as cross-trained in other areas when possible
 Monitor, take action and eliminate Customs and Border Protection (CBP) rejections
Provide customer service and education in order to meet CBP requirements
Establish and maintain working relationships with internal departments and other offices
Implementation of new customers into the Air Freight environment
Ensure all invoices are generated within the KPI standards
Monitor and reconcile open items on the WFAR
Monitor and reconcile weekly items on the PLOG
Monitor and reconcile weekly items needing reporting to General Order
Monitor and reconcile daily recovery manifests, especially shortages and overages
Reconcile Weekly inventory reports
Ensures customer profiles are accurate and updates.
Maintains employee records and completes yearly employee performance reviews.
Assists and answers customer inquires and other related customer service functions.
Ensure continuous improvement processes to increase efficiencies, reduces waste and improve performance to our customers.
Ensure employees comply with rate and service requirements established by customers.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Generally 5 plus years Airfreight import operations experience.  Generally understands basic managerial approaches for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary action.  Professional certification required in some areas.
