DHL Express is looking for an aggressive “hunter” field sales professional that will be responsible for consulting and selling international logistics/transportation services to meet sales targets and generate revenue within a specific territory. The Account Representative will maintain a high level of customer service with existing customers and leverage those relationships to expand business. The Account Representative will also develop new clients by prospecting and responding to business development leads. In addition, he/she will actively monitor and review customer global sales activity and make adjustments to processes and strategies as needed.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Sell profitable new key business within assigned territory by cold calling, cultivating leads and networking
  • Make customized presentations to various decision making audiences to close new business
  • Maintain and increase revenue streams with current key accounts in a specific territory, to include: face to face visits, problem solving and administrative follow-up
  • Master extensive international knowledge of the DHL network and must use company tools, processes and technologies to manage/grow territory and document activity
  • Ensure high post-sale satisfaction and positive long-term relationships
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to maximize sales and revenue growth within territory
Key Skills and Requirements:
  • Typically requires BA/BS Degree with strong GPA (preferably 3.0 or higher)
  • 1-2+ years successful and documented B2B sales experience (selling services vs. product is preferred)
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (additional experience with a CRM system is preferred)
  • Successful academic and professional track record with solid achievements, rankings, or awards
  • Transportation industry, service solution sales, or international sales experience highly preferred

Skill/Qualification
  • Must have substantial operational and commercial experience in 3PL
  • Proven commercial and business development skills, ideally within technology, E&M supply chain environment.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and develop and implement market strategies on a country basis
  • Proven project and program management skill and methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to influence, present, and persuade a broad range of audiences.
  • Technical aptitude: this role required the understanding of Technology, E&M industry and its total value chain
  • Ability to effectively manage in a highly matrixes environment and across regions. Countries and business units.
  • Possesses a high degree of collaborative leadership skill and can establish strong working relationships and personal contacts.
  • Above 7 years working experience in logistics and Supply Chain/manufacturing logistics.
  • At least 5 years logistics/operational experience in a management role
  • Have good and advance conceptual knowledge in Account Management/Customer Service/Supply Chain Solutions
  • Bachelor degree or above, Masters or equivalent degree preferred

What are you accountable for achieving?

  • Administer HR activities associated the management of all employee relations issues including in particular grievances, poor performance, absence and disciplinary action, across all business lines within agreed procedures, standards and timescales, complying with all statutory requirements.
  • Collate and prepare the files for Employment Tribunal, liaising with relevant parties, including Legal and the line manager
  • Schedule meetings/interviews to ensure the timely management of process
  • Produce the letters relating to invitations to meeting and the outcome of the relevant process.
  • Ensure the accurate logging of cases into the CRM system and allocate to the relevant Resolution Manager
  • Track SLAs to ensure compliance against process, escalating any non-compliance where appropriate.
  • Using standard tools, produce the regional case management trends and commentary for the regional management team and feed into the wider People Services reporting framework.
  • Undertake the role of note-taker, where appropriate
 To succeed in this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
  • Experience in using MS Excel, PowerPoint & Oracle HRMS.
  • Working towards CIPD or CPP qualification or relevant HR experience
  • Experience of delivering to customer service targets within a complex environment
  • Experience of working in HR team, ideally within a customer orientated commercial environment
  • An understanding of employment legislation, its application and best practice
  • A broad understanding of the HR employee lifecycle
  • Knowledge of DHL DC HR processes and procedures
  • An understanding of the role HR Customer Service Delivery plays and its interactions with other HR functions across the employee life cycle

Primary Purpose of Role

What are you accountable for achieving?

The successful candidate will manage the creation of an effective, efficient and commercially viable load plan each day to ensure that all customers’ deliveries are made on the date and at the time expected. The candidate will ensure that all loads are tracked, with issues logged and escalated accordingly and completion of service provision with closure/return of all required information, within theUKand Ireland Supply Chain.  Other accountabilities for this role will include:
  • To work closely with Control Tower staff.
  • To manage the acceptance of in-bound consignments/orders and oversee the building into a Daily Load Plan grouped by source geographical location, taking into account vehicle availability, size and payload, ensuring that all un-scheduled consignments are included.
  • To manage the maximisation of vehicle load-fill via effective consolidation and use of strategic partners to fulfil agreed service levels.
  • Manage the monitoring of sub contracted traffic and spend, minimising this spend where appropriate, ensuring the effective utilisation of EFX to manage sub-contraction.
  • Manage the monitoring and reporting, weekly, of all costs via the transport planning system.  Ensure service levels are met and reported to Consumer Network defined KPI’s.
  • Establish excellent communications with key customer contacts and subcontractors.
  • Manage and present, where required, any management reports.

What will you need as a successful Control Tower Clerk?

Essential

  • Knowledge of geographies and specific market conditions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of CT methodology and application in operations and systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of the commercial aspects of a large international (UKandEire) distribution operation.)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people. A high standard of presentation and communication skills are also needed in order to deal effectively with the customers both internal and external.
  • PC literate- able to create Excel spreadsheets, Word documents and emails.
  • Ability to analyse problems and develop creative solutions to complex operational issues.
Desirable

  • Educated to university degree level or equivalent professional qualifications or experience.
